Proper Shirley (The Grown-up Shirley Temple)
Ingredients:
•2 oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
•.5 oz Grenadine
•Lemon Lime Soda
Build in highball glass over ice Garnish with Maraschino Cherries (or Lime Wedge) Top with Lemon/Lime Soda

Thunder Punch
• 1 ½ oz Four Roses Bourbon (or Bourbon of your choice but it is a Four Roses Recipe! c'mon son! )
• ½ oz Peach Puree
• ½ Blood Orange Cocktail Bitters
• ¼ oz Lemon Juice
• 1 ½ Ginger Beer
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker EXCEPT Ginger Beer. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Pour into a glass over ice. Top with the Ginger Beer. Enjoy!

Whiskey Godfather
• 1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
• .05 oz Amaretto
Pour over ice and stir well. Optional Garnish with a brandied/maraschino cherry

Irish Whiskey Sidecar
• 3 tablespoons of superfine sugar (to rim the glass)
• 1 lemon Wedge (to rim the glass)
• 2 oz Irish Whiskey (Jameson, Bushmill, Kilbeggan and Tullamore Dew are recommended)
• 1 oz Orange Liqueur
• ¾ oz Squeezed Fresh Lemon Juice
Combine whiskey, orange liqueur, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker; add ice, cover shaker, and shake for 20 seconds. Strain drink into prepared cocktail glass. Four Roses - Single Barrel Bourbon - This is one of my personal favorites. Very smooth, Great neat, on the rocks and in cocktails.

A little different...Corsairs Bourbon (Insane in the Grain is good), Hudsons Baby Bourbon (very sweet but tasty) Dry Fly Washington Wheat Whiskey, The Nikka Coffey Grain - Japanese, Three Ships Whiskey - South Africa.
Now we know there is a lot of "likka" out there to taste and I have not tasted it all. This is a short list that will grow and change. Always go with what YOU like and enjoy. Feel free to mess around with recipes and create your own
A nice bar set is worth the investment ($30-60). You don't need a bunch of fancy stuff unless that's your thing but a good bar set and some quality glasses will making your experience a little more enjoyable. Whiskey Snifters/Cognac Glasses and Rocks Glasses are highly recommended. A red Solo cup ain't half bad in a pinch.
